Freight Bids & Pricing Analyst (Advanced Excel)

Fortus Group is a North American freight brokerage and carrier (Canada / USA / Mexico) moving 1,000+ loads per month. We are looking for a Bids & Pricing Analyst to own our customer RFPs and bids from start to finish, using Excel and AI tools to work faster and smarter.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and analyze customer RFPs and bids, which often include hundreds or thousands of lanes
• Clean, standardize and structure large lane files (cities, zip codes, equipment, volumes)
• Build pricing models in Excel using market rate data, historical rates and carrier quotes
• Collect rates from carriers and partners for bid lanes
• Calculate costs, margins and final pricing, then present recommendations to management
• Submit bids on time, in the exact format each customer requires
• Track bid results (won/lost lanes, rate gaps) and keep a bid history database
• After an award, monitor volumes and performance on the awarded lanes
• Build reports and dashboards for management
• Use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) every day to speed up bid work
• Test, implement and document new AI workflows for the bid process, and train the team on them
• Check all AI output for accuracy. AI speeds you up, but you own the numbers

MUST have:

• Expert Excel. You need to be able to use XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, pivot tables, Power Query, advanced formulas and conditional logic, and you need to be comfortable with files of 10,000+ rows
• English at B2 level or higher, written and spoken. You will deal with US and Canadian customers
• Strong attention to detail. One wrong number in a bid costs money
• Ability to work under tight deadlines

Big Plus:

• Hands-on experience automating work with AI tools. Show us a real example in your application
• VBA/macros, Power BI, SQL or Python
• Background in logistics, freight, pricing or data analysis
• Knowledge of the North American trucking market
